PREDICT

Rules

Content Policy

Effective 11 September 2026

Anyone can open a market. That is the point of the platform, and it is also the thing most likely to end it. These are the rules the create form enforces before a market is submitted and the review committee enforces afterwards.
  • No obscene or vulgar language, in the market or in the discussion.
  • No sexual, pornographic or violent imagery. Every uploaded image is checked before it is accepted.
  • No markets on the death, injury or attack of any person.
  • No markets targeting private individuals, or requiring private data to settle.
  • Resolution criteria must be verifiable from a public source that anyone can check.
  • Moderators can void a market at any time before settlement; a void refunds every bettor in full.

1.Never allowed

Markets that settle on a person being killed, injured or attacked. A market like “Will [name] be shot by [date]?” is not an edgy prediction — it is a standing cash prize for anyone who makes it resolve YES. It is blocked in the create form, and the committee voids it on sight if it gets through by another route.

Also never allowed:

  • Content that is illegal on its face: sexual content involving minors, solicitation of violence, sale of stolen credentials or personal data.
  • Markets targeting a private individual — anyone who is not a public figure acting in public.
  • Markets whose resolution would require private information: medical records, home addresses, private messages, immigration status.
  • Markets about an event the creator controls, or designed so that only the creator can know the answer.
  • Obscene, sexual or violent images. Every uploaded image is checked before it is accepted.
  • Obscene or vulgar language, in the market or in the discussion under it.
  • Impersonating another person, company or the platform itself.

2.Handled with care

These are allowed but produce most of the disputes, so the create form warns before you submit:

  • A named person combined with a sensitive subject — arrest, indictment, illness, divorce, bankruptcy.
  • Wars, invasions and casualty counts.
  • Anything where the cited source is a rumour account rather than a primary publisher.

If you open one of these, expect it to be challenged, and write the criteria so the challenge fails.

3.What good criteria look like

Whoever resolves a market — the creator, the stakers who vote, the committee — is bound to the criteria as written and nothing else. Criteria must name:

  • The source — one specific, publicly checkable publisher. “federalreserve.gov press releases”, not “the news”.
  • The threshold — the exact number, wording or event that makes it YES.
  • The cutoff — a date and a time, with a timezone.
YES if the FOMC statement published on 18 December lowers the target federal funds range. Source: federalreserve.gov/newsevents/pressreleases. Cutoff: 18 December, 23:59 ET.

Anything vaguer gets escalated, and escalation costs everyone time and bonds.

4.Discussion

Comments are for the market: evidence, sources, arguments about the criteria. Keep them clean and keep them on topic. Harassment, threats, spam, scam links and attempts to get another user’s keys are removed and the address is hidden from the discussion.

5.Enforcement

Two gates, deliberately different in kind:

  • Screening, in the browser. The create form blocks the prohibited categories outright and warns on the sensitive ones. It is a keyword filter and it is blunt on purpose — it catches the obvious cases and pushes borderline ones toward a person.
  • Void, on chain. The review committee can settle a market as invalid at any point before it is final. Every bettor is refunded in full, and the market cannot be reopened.

The Site may additionally hide a market from its own listings without touching the chain. A market that breaks the rules but was created directly against the program, bypassing this Site, can still be voided — the on-chain void is what actually backs this policy, not the form.

Voiding is always a full refund and never a confiscation. The committee can stop a market; it cannot take anyone’s deposit.

6.Reporting

If you see a market or comment that breaks these rules, write to contact@gopredict.app with the market’s address and which rule it breaks. Reports are read by a person.

Questions about this document go to contact@gopredict.app. The English text is the one that applies; any translation is provided for convenience.
